A comics story

I have already written about Nik Ahang Kowsar, the exiled artist who publishes his work in RoozOnline.com, the journal of the exiled (as i like to call it). Here are two more:

"Estekhare" By Nik Ahang Kowsar

"Estekhare" By Nik Ahang Kowsar

This one, published last wednesday, represents Hodjatol’Eslam Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani wondering about what he should say in his speech. The act of using a « Tasbih » for divination is called « Estekhare » in persian (it’s an Arab word). One usually starts from a random position, and counts the pieces until the end, changin one’s decision at each one. The last decision is the one to take. The text reads:

« … I should tell everyone to go f*** themselves.

… I should not tell everyone to go f*** themselves.

… »

This one, published right after the speech is quite self-explanatory. The text reads : « Congratulations ».

While not directly opposing Khamenei, Hashemi has affirmed his positions obviously enough for the protesters to be quite satisfied, and conservatives very angry. But Hashemi’s influence makes him a not so easy target. He traveled to Mashad on saturday evening, officialy to pray and talk with « Marjaes », who are high shia dignitaries. The game is far from over.
